What is Apple Pay™?

Apple Pay™ is a mobile wallet that lets you pay for purchases at stores and within apps easily and securely using your compatible Apple device instead of a physical credit or debit card.

Which devices can I use with Apple Pay?
Apple Pay is available on iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2, and iPad mini 3 running iOS 8.1 or later.
Is Apple Pay Free?
Apple Pay is Free! However, data charges from your mobile carrier may apply.
Is Apple Pay safe?
Apple Pay has enhanced security features that aim to make payments more secure than traditional ways to pay. With Apple Pay, instead of using your actual debit card number, when you add your card to the Apple Wallet a unique device account number is assigned, encrypted, and stored on a dedicated chip on your iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2 or iPad 3. When you make a purchase, the device account number along with a dynamic, transaction-specific security code is used to process your payment. This means that your actual debit card number is never shared with merchants or transmitted with the payment. Find out more here.  
How do I add my Marblehead Bank Mastercard Debit Card to Apple Pay?
To add your debit card to your Apple device:
  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap Wallet & Apple Pay
  3. Tap Add Credit or Debit Card

On your iPhone, you can also open Passbook, then swipe down and tap the plus sign. Then use your iPhone’s camera to enter the card information or type it in. You can then designate your Marblehead Bank Mastercard Debit Card as your default card.

If you already have cards in your iTunes account, you can add those to Passbook by simply entering the card security code – the 3-digit code on the back of your card


How do I set my Marblehead Bank Mastercard Debit Card as my default card to pay?
Go to Wallet in your iPhone settings to set your default card.

How do I use Apple Pay?

  1. Look for the Apple Pay symbol and hold your device close to the terminal
  2. Place your finger on the Touch ID. (We suggest you select the "credit" option if given a choice. Selecting the "debit" option may not always work successfully depending on the merchants terminal. If you are prompted for a PIN and the transaction is declined, ask the merchant if they can reprocess the transaction as credit .)
  3. Your phone will vibrate or beep when the transaction has completed.

What if my iPhone is lost or stolen?

If your iPhone or other Apple device is lost or stolen, you can use Find My iPhone to quickly put your device in Lost Mode, which will suspend Apple Pay. Or you can wipe your device completely. If you can’t download the Find my iPhone app or can’t disable Apple Pay using your iCloud account from another device, you should call 1-800-475-1871 right away and you can have your device account number temporarily suspended or deleted. This will prevent someone who may have your device from using it to make purchases. Monitor your account, and if you notice any suspicious activity, contact us.
